Please read the following information carefully before participating in the study:
Principle Investigator: Prof. Federico Rossano (University of California, San Diego)
Federico Rossano, Ph.D., is conducting a research study to find out more about the structure and dynamics of human social interaction. You have been asked to participate in this study because you are a healthy adult aged 18-40, who speaks English fluently. There will be up to 3500 participants in this set of studies.
If you agree to be in this study, 1) You may be asked to read paragraphs, watch videos, look at images, and/or listen to speech or other sounds. 2) You may be asked to answer questions about these materials (recognition, recall, multiple choice, paraphrase, written or verbal free recall). 3) You may be asked to talk with another person/people about these materials. 4) You may be asked to fill out questionnaires containing questions about your personal or educational history. Each session can last anywhere from 30-60 minutes. You will know the duration of your session beforehand.
Participation in this study may involve some risks or discomforts. These include the following:

There may or may not be any direct benefit to you from these procedures. The data is valuable as it contributes to knowledge about the roots of social, cultural, and societal expectations. This could ultimately be informative to educators, parents, and institutions interested in increasing cooperation, conservation, and harm prevention
Participation in this research is entirely voluntary. You may refuse to participate or withdraw at any time.If you are participating for course credit, there is an alternative assignment available, which yourinstructor and/or teaching assistants can inform you about. In case of equipment failure, you may bewithdrawn from the study. You may also be withdrawn from the study if you do not follow instructionsgiven to you by the research personnel.
You are being asked to consent to an audio recording of your participation during the study. Please indicate below the uses of the audio to which you are willing to consent.
If the audio is used by the lab, your audio will be played but your name will not be identified.
